Privacy Policy

Matt’s Notes (“this site”) is operated personally by Matthew Peine. This policy explains what information I collect, why, and what choices you have. If you have any questions, email me at mattsnotes.faith@outlook.com.

The short version

I collect as little as possible. I use your email only to send you what you signed up for, I never sell your information, and the site is built to avoid tracking cookies. The details below just spell that out.

What I collect

When you subscribe to the email list, I collect your email address, any name you provide, and which types of updates you chose to receive. This is stored securely so I can send you those updates.

When you make a donation, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. I never see or store your card number. I do keep a record of the gift — the amount, date, and the email and name you provide at checkout — for my own records and to thank you.

When you visit the site, I use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics to understand which content is helpful (for example, how many people read an article). This does not identify you personally and does not follow you around the web. My host also keeps standard server logs, as nearly all websites do.

How I use it

• Your email is used only to send the updates you subscribed to. You can change what you receive, or unsubscribe completely, from a link in every email.
• Donation records are used to process your gift, keep my own records, and send you a thank-you.
• Analytics are used in aggregate to see what teaching is reaching people.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Who else is involved

To run the site I rely on a few trusted services, each of which handles data under its own privacy policy:

• Stripe — processes donations.
• Amazon SES — delivers the emails you’ve subscribed to.
• Supabase — securely stores the subscriber list.
• Netlify — hosts the website.
• PostHog — provides the cookie-less analytics described above.

I share information with these services only as needed to operate the site.

Cookies

This site is built not to use tracking cookies, which is why you won’t see a cookie banner. The one exception is that Stripe’s secure checkout pages may set their own cookies during a payment — that part is handled by Stripe, not by me.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe or change preferences anytime using the link in any email.
• Access or delete your information — just email me at mattsnotes.faith@outlook.com and I’ll take care of it.

If you live somewhere with specific data-protection laws — such as the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA) — you have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, and I’ll honor those requests in good faith. I don’t sell personal information, and I rely on your consent to send you email. Just reach out and I’ll help.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If I update this policy, I’ll change the “last updated” date above, and note any significant changes clearly.
